Windhoek — The Chief Executive Officer of TransNamib, Titus Haimbili, and the Managing Director of Telecom, Frans Ndoroma, have been appointed to the board of Weatherly's two new subsidiaries in Namibia.

These are Weatherly Mining Namibia and Ongopolo Mining Limited. Weatherly has revived Ongopolo Mining Limited, making it one of its two subsidiary companies in the country. I a statement to investors, Weatherly International says these are significant appointments that will strengthen the two boards.

"Haimbili and Ndoroma have significant corporate experience in Namibia and add considerable weight to the Namibian boards," Weatherly International said in the statement released from the London Stock Exchange.

They are appointed as non-executive directors and the appointments are with immediate effect, according to the company.

Meanwhile, Weatherly has also appointed new management for the Namibian operations, with Craig Thomas as the new managing director and Andrew Thomson the technical director and country manager.

Thomas is an Australian mining engineer with a strong track record in new mine developments in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Botswana. Thomson is a local geologist and former general manager of Weatherly.
